How do I start the landscape process?
The first thing to do is to call H&R or submit a request a quote form to schedule an on-site visit. This is a service we offer free of charge. One of our landscape professionals will schedule a time to meet with you to discus your landscaping goals for your home or property. Some topics we like to discus are; Plant material preferences, hardscape material choices if needed, decorative rock or mulch, and budget.

When will I receive a quote?
An H&R landscape profession will take the information gained during the on-site visit and prepare you a detailed price proposal.

Does this proposal include a design?
No. If the proposal is accepted, a design will be created for your home or property. This design will remain the property of H&R Lawn and Landscape until a contract is signed between both parties to perform described work. At this time the design will be released to the client.

What type of residential maintenance packages do you offer?
We can create a landscape maintenance plan for you that can include any services related to the landscape field. Most of our current residential customers like to include weekly mowing, fertilizer applications, lawn renovation, spring and fall clean up, irrigation system checks, irrigation start-up and shutdown, shrub pruning, bed maintenance, and annual color plantings. Please fill out a request a quote form if you are interested in any of these services.

What size of mowers do you use?
The size of mowers used is based on the size of the specific property being cut. H&R Lawn and Landscape mow trucks carry mowers ranging from 21 inch to 52 inch. This will ensure we will have the correct equipment for any lawn we may encounter.

Do you bag the clippings?
When possible we like to return the clippings back to the lawn area. This will help the soil retain its organic matter, as the clipping will decompose and add nutrients back to the soil . In some instances bagging the clippings is necessary such as backyards with a pool or water feature. In this case yes, we will bag the lawn clippings. If you prefer to have your clippings bagged, just let us know and we will gladly do this for you.

How often do you sharpen your mower blades?
We sharpen our mower blades every 12-15 hours of actual mow time. Sharpening usually occurs 2-3 times per week.

How often should I water?
Turf should be watered ¾” to 1” per week. Trees and shrubs should be watered well 1-2 times per week. Annuals and perennials should be watered 3 to 4 times per week. This is for established plant material and can change depending on weather conditions.

Do you provide commercial maintenance?

What kind of commercial landscape maintenance packages do you offer?
We offer custom landscape maintenance packages for all commercial properties large or small. This includes but not limited to; weekly mowing, mulching, shrub pruning, annual color, irrigation service, leaf clean up, fertilization, bedding maintenance, and snow removal. Billing for these service can be “as rendered” or broke into 12 separate monthly installation payments. Please call for more detailed information.

Do you install irrigation systems?
Yes. We have over 80 years of combined experience in irrigation install and maintenance. We have done large systems with over 40 zones to small residential systems that are very easy to operate.

Do you provide snow removal?
Yes. We provide commercial and residential snow removal. We have large and small plow trucks, loaders with snow pushers, salt trucks that apply granular salt, and sidewalk crews that will make sure safe entrance and exits to your place of business or home.

How much can I expect to pay to hire your company?
This all depends on the type of service you might need. We are a professional company that works year round.
